FRAISA Annual Report 20/21

They are a trademark of FRAISA: precise and high-quality cut- ting data, perfectly adapted to the respective tools and mate- rials. The FRAISA ToolExpert ® cutting data calculator also pro- vides our customers with a platform on which the optimum application parameters can be determined reliably and quickly. Manually entering application cutting data into CAM or TDM systems is often error-prone and time-consuming. Therefore, FRAISA has developed a solution for the direct import of cut- ting data by integrating an XML or JSON interface. This ex- change takes place purely online – intermediate storage on the computer is no longer necessary. Cutting data provision without detours The first project was implemented together with the CAM manufacturer OPEN MIND and the software hyper MILL ® . Through the XML interface, all relevant cutting data can be im- ported easily and quickly. In the meantime also as a package: several articles can be combined with a wide range of materi- als and different applications – so, with one download several hundred data sets are imported. But also users of the CAM software TopSolid benefit from our development. Thus, the interface can be used directly within a milling operation, whereby tool and material are automatical- ly transferred to the FRAISA ToolExpert ® . The user selects the appropriate cases of application and thereby transfers them di- rectly into the CAM software. Another successful cooperation was achieved between FRAISA and Mastercam ® : when using the CAM software, the user ac- cesses the FRAISA ToolExpert ® via the tool definition function. After selecting the appropriate milling application, the opti- mum cutting data is transferred directly to Mastercam ® . The interface connection to a Tool Data Management (TDM) system is a premiere. The user is able to access the FRAISA ToolExpert ® in the tool management system of the mdm soft- ware via a link, select the appropriate application and import it with a click into the tool database. During this step, the pa- rameterized geometry data of the respective chipping tool are also transferred. By providing the cutting data via online interfaces, FRAISA has once again succeeded in taking a revolutionary step towards process optimization. For our customers, this significantly re- duces the time required and the susceptibility to errors – while at the same time increasing efficiency. In order to maintain this high level, we will continue to consistently develop the inter- face technology in the future.
