An internal communication platform enables every FRAISA employee to share information quickly and easily – thus the platform became a very comprehensive source for market information within a very short period of time. In addition, FRAISA always maintains close contact to customers in order to identify and address special needs at an early stage. These two sources of information complement each other perfectly and provided the basis for the development of the following product innovations. NX face finishing cutter A very impressive new development is the NX face finishing cutter. It fills a previously vacant market niche regarding the manufacturing of mirror-smooth flat surfaces. Here, the secret is the axially and radially offset finishing cutting edge embed- ded next to three other end cutting edges: Since it is engaged only a few hundredths during operation, this offset allows it to concentrate fully on the finishing. The main cutting work is done by three other face cutting edges. The impressive result: extremely smooth surfaces with Ra values of < 0.1 µm. High-performance milling cutter SX The new SX high performance cutters have been developed for machining stainless and acid-resistant steels. But they can also be used without problems for high-temperature-resistant materials such as Co/Ni alloys or titanium. In the FRAISA Tool- School, the light-cutting cutter underwent countless chipping tests – generating precise application data that guarantee maximum process reliability even in a particularly demanding application. Cutting edge geometry, carbide and coating are perfectly coordinated and thus, further support the positive properties of the SX high-performance milling cutters. XFeed-H High stock removal rates for hard materials: With the new XFeed-H, FRAISA has achieved the perfect implementation of HFC processes in hardened steels. The High-Feed-Cutting (HFC) strategy is characterized by very high feed rates, high cutting speeds and low axial engagement depths. With the XFeed-H, large metal removal rates can be achieved at the highest feed rates. Thus, the line-by-line manufacturing of complex 3D contours at maximum feed rates is highly efficient and fast. SpheroX The new generation of SpheroX milling cutters opens up im- pressive perspectives: Designed for highly dynamic cutting processes (HDC), the new milling cutter convinces not only with high stock removal rates but also with its all-round tal- ent. With its remarkable capabilities in both rough- and fin- ish-cutting, the SpheroX is ideal for mold construction. It easily machines a wide range of materials with steels from 50 HRC to 70 HRC. Due to the special face geometry, even plunging operations with a plunging angle of up to 5° are no problem for the new tools. Aluminum High-Performance Milling AX The core technology of the revolutionary new AX high-perfor- mance finishing cutter is the support chamfer technology al- ready patented by FRAISA and now further developed. A very fine, highly polished chamfer behind the cutting edge changes variably from the face to the shell – the solution for the ma- chining of thin and high webs. Due to a minimum tool deflec- tion with an excellent damping in the cut, remarkable surface finishes with tight tolerances are achieved. The AX technology was developed together with end users; therefore, we are es- pecially pleased about the enthusiastic feedback on the tools and the application technology.
