Productive milling of aluminum

To achieve optimal results when machining aluminum, know-how and sound application knowledge are required. Choosing the right end mill, the right cutting speed and feed rate -- as well as the right cooling and chip removal -- are just some of the aspects that need to be considered.

To mill aluminum efficiently and economically, FRAISA supports our customers with a successful combination of high-performance end mills, valuable application knowledge and process-reliable application data.

Tip for aluminum machining

Correct cooling - the more the better!

The chips produced when milling aluminum impair the milling process. This is why end mills with highly polished cutting surfaces, chip flutes and a roughing profile are ideal for improving chip removal.

Correct cooling is crucial for optimal chip removal when machining aluminum. To achieve this, the coolant supply should be perfectly aligned with the tool and, if possible, clamping devices with internal coolant supply should be used. The rule is: the more cooling, the better.

Tip for aluminum machining

Innovative roughing profile for the highest productivity and process reliability

FRAISA presents a highly economical and productive solution for aluminum machining. The new roughing cutter impresses with remarkable performance regarding the volume machined per unit of time.

Our engineers have optimized the tool technologies to the essentials during development. Thanks to a new roughing profile, specially developed for aluminum machining, the tool can be used with process reliability in all High Performance Cutting applications. A clean chip removal is guaranteed by a robust and very smooth cutting edge.

When using the new FRAISA roughing tool, the user benefits from safe and efficient aluminum machining with low force and energy consumption. In addition, this tool also boasts an optimal price-performance ratio and an increase in productivity.
